The First Car to Drive Around the World Was a Ford - Apparently.
In 1907, a 40-year-old Englishman named Harry E. Lawson, a mechanic and adventurer, set out to drive a custom-built 1907 Ford Model K around the world. Lawson and his companion, Henry Spencer, completed the 42,000-mile journey in 65 days, crossing 15 countries and earning a Guinness World Record for the fastest long-distance drive at the time. The feat was documented in a series of newspaper articles and remains one of the earliest recorded examples of a long-distance car journey.
